Zero customer service; wiped out my domains, web sites, email forwarding with no notice and refused to answer emails
I needed a web site for a small group with the ability to do mail forwarding. I used 000webhost for a number of years with little problem (every once in a while it would lose its mind and my mail forwarding would break but I could get it reset). Then, without notice, my web site disappeared. I login and it shows the domain is inactive (the others were fine). I sent them emails, etc. asking what happened: no response. Then a couple of months later email forwarding stopped. I login and it's as if I just created a new account. Again, attempts to contact them resulted in no communications whatsoever. I lost 2 websites and my mail forwarding. Zero customer service. I wish I could give them 0.
I realize the service is free, however, if you just wipe out people's data without notice and don't answer emails, what's the point of offering the "service"?
I was using this free hosting 000webhost (the free one, not the paid one) and I definitely won't try using it again. Although it looks super cheap because of no cost and free subdomain, it just doesn't work. First I created the site and then uploaded some files for FTP. Then, I tried going to the site. It just takes forever to load. Sometimes, it just closes the connection. One time, it even said "there's nothing here". Then I tried connecting FTP with filezilla again and a 500 error occured again. Lastly, I tried uplaoding files from the site. When I clicked on upload files, It just redirects back to the home page. The status page is just full of banners telling you to upgrade your account. After all these issues, I wouldn't even think of trying the paid one.
worst kind of bs i have seen in a long time. most review sites say 1.5gb storage / 100gb bandwidth - well it is actually 1gb / 10gb! still not bad for free, don't get me wrong. the real bull starts once you sign up. there is no cpanel - period! some very limited custom panel (maybe they convert this Custom panel to cpanel????) what kinda stops everything at the start. a one click installer (like fantastico etc) was nowhere to be seen. no access to any settings to do anything remotely serious. false advertising period.
ordered a free account mydomain.000webhost.com > ALIAS DID NOT WORK installed a WP page at mydomain.000webhost.com > WP DID NOT WORK nginx error orderer a .com domain at 000webhost.com > VERIFICATION BY EMAIL DID NT WORK connected the domain with mydomain000webhost.com > DID NT WORK deleted WP page and uploaded individual website to mydomain000webhost.com > LOADING TIME + 45 SEC!!!!!
I can only thank them for giving me the possibility to learn to create websites free of charge. I still don't get it why people complain when they get something for free?
